How secure will it be?
Totally secure, we have individual units that only you have access to. You’ll be the only person with the lock and key and you have full control over who enters. Our storage facilities have access control and managers who patrol regularly, in addition the facilities have alarms and electric fencing.
Will I need a padlock?
Yes you will. This is to ensure only you have access to your unit. You supply your own padlock.
Will I need additional insurance?
Although our self-storage facilities are safe and secure, we do not insure your possessions. The advice we give all our clients is that they would speak with their insurance company which steps should be taken in this regard. Even though we do not envision any fires, theft or floods as a company we cannot be held responsible should they occur? We also cannot be held responsible for any personal injury incurred at our facilities.
What are the operating hours?
All our facilities are open Monday to Sunday from 07h00 to 17h00.
Are there restrictions on what I can store?
As a rule no, although we’ll obviously not allow the storage of any illegal substances or any proceeds from crime. We also do not allow any flammable and perishable goods. (Foodstuffs for instance)
ABOUT MOVING OUT
What kind of notice is required?
We’ll need written notice 30 days in advance.
When do I need to give notice?
Notice must be submitted in writing at least 30 days in advance. We require a full calendar month notice. So if you wish to move out say the end of July, you would need to give us notice by July 1st at latest.
Can I use my deposit as the last month’s rental?
Sure, absolutely. Just state in your request that you’d like to use your deposit for your notice month.
What happens if I want to move out in a months’ time but have missed the 30 day notice period?
If it is after the first day of the month, you’ll need to pay rent for the following month as that would be considered your notice period. However you may move out at any time, if all your payments are up to date.
When I selected the date on the move-out form I was told that I am liable for the next calendar months rental. Why must I pay for the next month?
If the notice appeared informing you that you are liable for the next month’s rental, it’s because you’re making a request after the first day of the month. This means you have missed the cut off for this month and can only give notice for the end of next month. If you feel this is incorrect, please give us a call.
How do I get my deposit refunded if I do not use it for the last month’s rent?
If you choose not to use your deposit for the last month’s rent, you’re required to fill in your banking details on your move-out request. Once your request and move-out has been verified, you’ll be refunded in 30 days.
What do I take with me when I move out?
Once your request has been approved you’ll receive a certificate. You’ll need to take this with you on the day you wish to vacate and show it to the facilities manager.
What days and times can I vacate?
All our facilities are open Monday to Sunday from 07h00 to 17h00. You may vacate any time during these hours.
What if I do not move out during my notice period or if I need to extend my lease after I’ve given notice?
If you wish to extend or cancel your notice please email us.
Is there anything else important that I should remember?
Just leave the unit clean when you move out.
